implants
What is an implant?
"Dental implants are titanium screws that replace the roots of missing teeth." They are "bio-compatible" which means that the titanium material used to manufacture these implants integrates with the body creating a healthy and strong base for the porcelain crown.
In what cases are implants used?
When we are missing one or more teeth and we don't want to touch the side teeth (we don't want to fill the gap with a porcelain bridge).
In cases of complete absence of teeth, when the patient does not want to wear total removable dental prostheses, with the placement of several implants (6-8 implants), it becomes possible to place porcelain bridges fixed on the implants.
In cases when we have a partial lack of teeth in the final parts of the mouth, by placing implants it becomes possible to fill the gap with fixed porcelain bridges and not with removable prostheses.
What are the advantages of placing implants?
Aesthetics and functionality.
Improvement of oral hygiene.
Is there any age limits for placing dental implants?
Yes. Young patients should have reached skeletal maturity. Their jaw bone is fully developed at the age of 18.

How successful are they?
The success of dental implants depends on placement in the jaw, genetics, maintenance and oral hygiene. In general, the success rate of implants is 98%.
